Solutions for Power Generation Liquid Cooling Loops
EPDM:
Known for its tight molecular structure, EPDM is rigid, highly resistant to weathering, and excels in water/glycol systems. It prevents microplastic degradation (which could block pumps) and is heavily relied upon for direct-to-chip setups.
Silicone:
Features a helical, inorganic molecular structure that makes it much more flexible and significantly more heat-resistant than EPDM. It provides excellent torsion movement for hinged rear-door coolers and is highly effective at damping
Flex Technologies can provide either EPDM or Silicone hoses in a peroxide-cured format to meet all requirements.
High chemical compatibility with coolants (like water-glycol mixtures), low permeation rates to prevent leaks, flexibility for tight server rack routing, and vibration isolation for sensitive equipment.
Fluoropolymers: Used for exceptional chemical resistance and ultra-low permeation.
Because data center layouts—especially server blades and
racks—are dense and complex, hose flexibility is paramount. Therefore, Server blade hoses must snake around dense components without kinking or flow restriction. Tight bend radiuses and or wire-reinforced products that can be flexed are critical to the infrastructure of these products.
Coolant distribution units (CDUs) handle substantial heat and pressure, requiring hoses that can manage the resulting thermal stress. Hoses must withstand continuous high operating temperatures, especially in high-density rack configurations exceeding 100kW. Fabric reinforcements are often added to flexible hoses to achieve the tensile and pressure ratings necessary for long spans and high-pressure circuits.
Hoses in thermal management systems absorb continuous vibrations from pumps and chillers to prevent stress on connected equipment. Flexible hoses isolate the cooling system from pumps and server vibrations, reducing the likelihood of joint fatigue.
Liquid cooling and Heat Exchange Hoses engineers for direct to chip to in row cooling. Fire-resistant hoses for data centers are critical for maintaining safe liquid cooling operations and fire suppression systems.
